A 2,000 kVA generator set designed and built by Margen will secure the essential and safety power supply of a desalination plant in Mauritania. The unit is housed in a soundproof container and operates at a nominal voltage of 400/230 V and a frequency of 50 Hz.

The plant is located close to a major urban centre, where drinking water production is a primary service for the population and for local infrastructure. In this setting, uninterrupted power to critical loads is a precondition for the whole desalination cycle, which relies on pumps, control systems and safety devices that cannot be switched off.

The generator is configured for the harsh environmental conditions of the installation area, with high requirements for reliability, safety and ease of maintenance. The container integrates the main auxiliary systems, limits noise emissions and shields the equipment from weather and external conditions.
